James Smith, Facilities Manager

James started attending the Duluth Vineyard with his wife in 2010, and as he likes to put it, "one step in the doors, and we knew we were home."

James started volunteering in several service areas, and over time discovered a love for serving on the Facilities and First Impressions teams. That eventually led to a staff position as our Facilities Manager.

Prior to coming to the Vineyard, James spent over 23 years in corporate IT, and finally retired to Duluth a few years ago. He loves everything about the city of Duluth - "it's caring people, compassionate community, and God's abundant blessings of natural beauty."

When he isn't cruising around the Vineyard behind the floor scrubber, James enjoys just hanging out behind a laptop screen with his feet on the desk (some IT nerds never really give it up). He enjoys taking long, random road trips and as well as photography, although his wife will probably tell you he's just in it for the cool gear.
